First Baby Post - 21 weeks tomorrow

Apparently we really are having a baby. I knew that the test said we are and I know that I have been getting bigger in the belly but it wasn't completely real until Monday. We had our 20 week ultrasound on Monday. It was so much fun. The first thing we saw was the little heart beat. We were able to see babies little feet kick, arms move and even stick its tongue out at us. It made me so excited.

We also decided to switch health care providers. We moved from United to Health East. We are working with the midwives at MacGroveland Clinic. It has been a wonderful experience so far. My first appointment was with Lisa Mattke and I think I am going to stick with her. We also had a tour of St. Josephs and I was really impressed. We are still interested in the water birth. We have a lot of questions but the more I hear about it the more I want to do it. It is supposed to make the labor easier for me and the entry into the world an easier experience for my babe too. It all makes me really excited.

Peter has been working really hard on the house to get ready too. I can't believe how far he has come on the basement. It is going to be great. I feel pretty helpless to give him any kind of a hand but I try to support him as much as I can in other ways.

Other then that we are moving at our pace to get ready for our little one but one thing is for sure we are both really excited.

Labor Day Weekend

We had a great weekend. I love summer in Minnesota. We had all of the Vinck's over for a barbecue on Sun. Peter had his football draft ALLLLL day on Monday. If you ask me it was more of a pseudo-bachelor party (golfing in the morning, BBQ, draft at night). I hung out with Kota and had dinner with friends. Tuesday was a slap in the face with the start of school back in full force. Swimming is consuming my life. I am assistant coach for the Cretin-Derham Hall girls. We have a great team but never have I been so reminded of the drama of being a high school girl. MHS was great but I can not imagine being a cheesemaker again. Tonight we swim against Forest Lake at St. Kates. Should be not problem. Hope everyone is having a good week.

New Blog

Hey everyone this is our new blog. Check it out when you are bored at work or if you really truely want to see what is going on in the world of Jenny and Peter oh and of course Kotabear!

We have had a really exciting summer. We started the summer off by redoing our backyard. A friend of mine from CDH put in two patios, sodded and mulched. With a lot of help from Ginny and Steve we landscaped and added a fence in the back. It looks absolutely beautiful. Here are some pictures from our first BBQ.

After a VERY long summer of doing summer school we left for a 2 week trip to Ireland on July 31. We went with our good friends Scott and Sarah Deming and Michael and Brennan Townley. It was an awesome trip with great friends!
